Pawscan
In short: Pawscan works offline, with no account and no ads. Your answers in Find My Match, your favourites and your settings stay on your phone, and nothing is sent to us.
Who is responsible
Pawscan is published by PLASTIC PLUS LTD, trading as IronCove Labs, Unit C, Station Works, 2 Bury Road, Radcliffe, Manchester, M26 2UA, United Kingdom. The director is Mohammed Junaid Arif. Under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, we are the controller of any personal data described in this policy. Contact: fetch@plasticplus.autos.
What the app keeps on your phone
- The answers you give in Find My Match, such as the dog size you want, how much energy and grooming you can manage, and whether you need a dog that's good with children or in a flat.
- Your starred favourites and the breeds you last compared.
- Your display settings and sorting choices.
Find My Match describes your home life, so we built it to run entirely on the device. The ranking is worked out on your phone, and the answers are never uploaded. We can't see them. If Android's own backup is turned on, Google may include this app data in your device backup under your Google account.
What we don't collect
Pawscan has no sign-in, analytics, advertising or tracking. Despite the name, it doesn't use your camera and doesn't identify dogs from photos. It doesn't ask for your location, contacts, microphone or files, and it doesn't send data over the internet.
Google Play
Google Play delivers the app under Google's own privacy policy. If you've chosen to share usage and diagnostics with Google, Google may send us anonymous crash and performance reports through the Play Console. These don't identify you, and we use them only to fix bugs.
Children
Families often choose a dog together, and Pawscan is fine for children to browse. Because it collects no personal data, it collects none from children.
About the breed information
Breed profiles and trait meters describe typical tendencies, not guarantees. Every dog is an individual, shaped by its breeding, upbringing and training. Pawscan is not veterinary or behavioural advice. No breed is guaranteed safe with children, so never leave young children alone with any dog. People with allergies should spend time with the actual dog before committing. For a dog's health, behaviour or suitability for your home, talk to a vet, a reputable breeder or a rescue organisation.
If you email us
If you write to us, we receive your email address and message. We use them only to reply, on the basis of our legitimate interest in answering you, and delete the conversation within 12 months of our last reply unless the law requires us to keep it longer.
Your rights
You can ask to access, correct or erase personal data we hold about you, to restrict or object to its use, and to receive it in a portable format. In practice, the only data we could hold is an email you sent us. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Removing your data
To clear everything Pawscan has stored, open Android Settings, then Apps, then Pawscan, then Storage, and tap Clear data. Uninstalling the app removes it too.
Changes
If a future version changes how Pawscan handles data, we'll update this page and its effective date before the new version is published on Google Play.
